10:00  Down the Conspiracy Rabbit Hole – with Marianna Spring as your guide
As BBC’s first specialist correspondent for Disinformation & Social Media, 27 year old Marianna Spring has already built herself an award-winning reputation with podcasts like ‘Marianna in Conspiracyland’ and ‘Disaster Trolls’, exploring and challenging trolls and conspiracy theories and dealing with hatred and abuse. At PRIX EUROPA Brunch, Marianna will share her experiences and offer tips from working at this new frontline for journalism.

Is it possible to be impartial and balanced when you are covering people and organisations that are spreading disinformation, conspiracy theories and ‘alternative facts’? Hear Roger Mahony, Editor, Editorial Standards BBC Radio 4 together with Stephanie Pieper, Head of Programmes rbb24 Inforadio discuss and answer questions from the audience. Mattias Hermansson, project manager from Swedish Radio and co-author of the company’s editorial guidelines moderates the discussion.

Will AI replace creatives? Not if we learn how to open the toolbox. Lars Bastholm, an internationally renowned AI expert, will present the newest and most relevant AI tools for media producers.

 from the Netherlands will talk about VPRO Backlight’s Archive of the Future, the AI Song Contest, current Dutch projects at other public broadcasters (with support of NPO Innovation) and present preliminary results from a research project entitled Synthetic Truth.

Kåre V. Poulsen and Lars Bastholm will guide you through the Danish project ChatNFS – Grund:BotDR is currently developing a new experiment: What if the Danes could have a conversation with one of the most important, famous and influential people, who died long ago. We will be talking about what to consider, when you want to recreate a person with AI. What is the process and what are the tools? What are the benefits, the ethical and rights aspects and what perspectives open up, when you can suddenly have a conversation with the dead.
